Does anyone else toddler constantly request snacks at all hours of the day or is it just mine? I am always searching for quick an easy snacks that I can whip up in five minutes that are healthy and my kids will enjoy. Here are some of my go to’s for when we’re at home and they make a snack request!
- Banana with peanut butter. This is so quick and easy and my kids gobble it up and usually ask for seconds. I literally just slice a banana and drizzle the top with peanut butter and sometimes cinnamon. They love this one and it’s a guaranteed hit.
- Veggies with hummus/ranch and naan bread. My kids are obsessed with bell peppers and cucumbers, so another quick go to is to slice this combo up and plate it with hummus and caesar dressing. They love caesar but don’t really care for ranch but obviously you can switch it up according to your kids preference. I will usually include this homemade sourdough naan bread with it for a carb when we have it made.
- A smoothie. Smoothies are my secret weapon. We have them at least 3 times a week and I love making them for my kids because I can put all kinds of greens in them so they get healthy fats, fruit, vegetables, and protein from greek yogurt. Check out our go to smoothie recipe here. It’s quick and easy, and the best part is the littles love to help make it.
- Toddler charcuterie / snack tray. This is a great one because I just use whatever I have and can usually come up with a pretty good assortment that’s both nourishing and delicious. On this I usually include cheese, crackers (we love simple mills!), a veggie, and a fruit. This is great because they can graze on it and it gives them a bigger variety. Often times we do this as a post nap snack or if we have friends over – toddlers love a snack tray. I mean, don’t we all.
These are our easy go to’s that are on constant rotation that keep our bellies full and nourished with yummy healthy foods! Let me know if you would like to hear about what we like to do for snacks on the go, because more often than not we’re out and about when snack time arises!
